I got 4.3 for results this sem...my best ever since i came NUS..really fruitful and gratifying feeling considering that:
1) It was undoubtedly the busiest time of my Uni and entire life the past sem with all the MC commitments..
2) I scored A for both Singapore Foreign Policy and International Security! My 1st ever overall grade As in NUS..
3) I attended only 0 lectures for 2 modules, 2 lectures for 1 module, 3 lectures for 1 module, and 4 lectures for 1 module...
4) I managed to S my intro to e-commerce..
5) My insanely hardwork the 3 weeks before the exams paid off..including the hell week of PS essays where i worked non-stop for 24hrs on 2 occasions to rush my papers.
i ve always told myself this sem's results were crucial to me, coz it ll set the tone to how i ll pursue my honours..and to be able to achieve such grades despite the insanely heavy cca commitments gives me so much more confidence that i can possibly even do better when i step down, and have more time on my hands. Hope so ya...
Wanna thank some of my dear friends too..
riddy, for giving me so much guidance, and advice on all the PS modules..
bobsie, for the wonderful companionship during those crazy revision weeks..
diana baby, for always listening to my grunting and basically everything haha..

dota and KOL gang, for providing endless entertainment and life in clubroom with KOL haha~
my dearest MC girls who took Intro to E-commerce tog, for providing wonderful feedback and notes as well!
and most importantly..dearest shuang er..for always being behind me in whatever i do and giving me so much moral support and strength..and for just being who you are.
yupz..so i guess examinations are just like a project..it is so important to help one another out as a team..even simple companionship, loaning of notes, discussion on tips and possible topics can make a great difference.
And i guess with this, it officially closes another chapter in my life..as i move towards being a year 3 senior in NUS Arts..and a brand new sem of hard work again..also happy and honoured to have gotten called up for an interview by a company last week..apparently juv works there, and passed the company my contact. So they rang me up, and asked me whether i would be interested in meeting them, to learn more about each other and their company. I guess the interview went pretty well, wow it was my 1st one actually...and i was busy typing my resume the night before..i figured even if i wasnt interested in joining the company, it is always good to go for the interview experience, and gain a greater insight into corporate life.
In the end the company called me up to go for their company social outing todae, haha tot it was interesting but i declined..but i accepted their invitation to attend their corporate meeting on mondae..where 200 of their employees and company strength wud be there..haha wah..sounds like AGM lydat..quite exciting..they also offered to keep in touch with me the next 2 years, so that after i graduate, i can opt to join them if i enjoy their workplace experience..
And 1 of the things u realize from joining MC in Uni life, which a lot of people dun see now, is how the experiences learned from being in MC, provides one with so much more soft skills and confidence in meeting people, more meat in yr resume, and going for a job interview. I had so much to say, and so much to share with the interviewers that they only had time to ask me 2 questions: 1) Tell us more about yourself. 2) You mentioned that u have surfed our company website, so could u tell us more about what u know bout our company?
The rest of the time, i was happily talking and talking to them, and ask them so many questions bout the company that they appreciated it..in the end, i thoroughly enjoyed the interview session..in fact, it didnt feel like an interview to me at all, but more like a sharing session...
And 1 thing i realize evidently was that in the private sector, grades and honours (or no honours) degree dun really matter much to them, becoz at the end of the dae, they will still send u to their training course to groom u, and everybody starts off basically at similiar levels. In the private sector, sales is really a big factor though. If u can do great sales, u ll really be highly valued and sought after, regardless of yr grades. That is why soft skills are really important, becoz any marketing person will tell u that soft skills make a key difference between closing a deal and going home empty-handed.
Yupz..just sharing some of my thoughts here..hope everyone s enjoying yr holidaes.. =)
